Never underestimate District 30-5A. Why you ask? Well, because I did. I underestimated the McHi Bulldogs (2-1). Yep, that was me. I underestimated the Donna Redskins (2-1), though I did have them making the playoffs. The same with Sharyland (2-1). The only team I over estimated may be Rio Grande City (2-1, which lost to Edinburg North in its season opener. On the bright side, I seem to have projected McAllen Memorial (1-2) perfectly (yep, that was me).
Anyhow, it’s been a wacky season so far. And it’s anyone’s guess as to which team will win district this season. But for those that still like projections, here goes another dose.

Wade Baker, 30, is Sports Editor of The Monitor. He graduated from Francis Marion University in Florence, S.C. in 2000 with a degree in Mass Communications and moved to the Rio Grande Valley in 2002 for a sports reporter opening at The Monitor.
